The feature series “A Infância no limite II No Bordel, a debutante da selva” is one of the most complete journalistic documents on child prostitution ever written in Brazil, according to scholars. The research had to be stopped several times due to risks for König and photographer Albari Rosa. Right after being published, the feature had its first consequences: the arrest of the main pimp in the area between Brazil and Colombia, in the Amazon rain forest.

Mauri König graduated in Language, Literature and Journalism. A journalist for the last 15 years, König has won 16 journalism awards, including the Human Rights Award of the Inter American Press Association (2002). Among his most important works are a feature denouncing child recruitment for military service in Paraguay, and a wide investigation on trafficking children for prostitution on the boundaries between Brazil and eight South American countries.
