Richard MGAMBA is a Tanzanian journalist currently based in Dar es Salaam, working for the Guardian Ltd. He started his journalism career in 1998 in Mwanza city on the southern shores of Lake Victoria. "The Battle for souls" is an inside story of how albinos currently live in fear as the rate of their killings continue to rock Tanzania, as well as the East African region. While last year the world was struggling to tame the impact of the global economic crisis, Tanzania has been the scene for atrocious crimes. Local traders planned and executed the killings of albinos to get a hold of their organs in order to boost their businesses.
