Richard MGAMBA is a Tanzanian journalist currently based in Dar es Salaam , working for the Guardian Ltd. He started his journalism career in 1998 in Mwanza city on the southern shores of Lake Victoria. After covering stories about Tanzania's mining, fishing and cotton sectors, he continued with the killings of elderly women and arms smuggling in the Great Lakes region. |

While last year the world was struggling to tame the impact of the global economic crisis, Tanzania has been the scene for atrocious crimes. Local traders planned and executed the killings of albinos to get a hold of their organs in order to boost their businesses. |
